The When and Where of the Big Event

On Wednesday, July 4, head to Downtown Clayton and get ready to have some fun! The Downtown Clayton July 4th Celebration begins at 4pm at Municipal Park (325 McCullers Drive) and continues after dark until about 10pm.

The Details & Activities

The day kicks off with some friendly competition on the field—think, sack races, relay races, a 50-yard dash, water balloon toss, cornhole tournament, and more. There will be FREE watermelon and ice cream, as well as plenty of food vendors, plus a hose-down by the fire department. The day continues with basketball competitions, carnival rides, bingo and raffles, and live music by local band Big music at the downtown clayton july 4th celebration

Get Ready to Groove with Big Love

Meet Big Love, a 6-piece band from Raleigh that’s known for getting people up out of their chairs and onto the dance floor. They play a variety of music that just makes you want to get up and groove—jazz, disco, pop, funk, r&b, beach music… bring your dancing shoes!

Conclude with A SPECTACULAR Fireworks Show

This year, there will be even more than in past years, and the town will provide additional seating and bleachers at Municipal Park—where you’ll get the best views. Plus, after the show ends, the music, inflatables, and rides will be around for another half hour!
