Dress Up Your Front Porch

beautiful dressed up front porchAnyone who walks up to your front door is checking out your front porch. How is that first impression treating your home—will your visitors (or buyers) be appalled by what they see, or will they be eager to come inside and see what’s next? Your front porch can say a lot about your home… what’s yours saying?

Here are some tips for making your front porch really sell your home (even if you’re not selling your home).

Power Wash to Sparkle

Remove dirt and grime, even mildew and mold, and make your home sparkle… starting with that front porch.

Paint Those Rails

painting the railings of the front porchIf you have rails leading up to your porch, take a look at their condition. Are they rusty, chipped or discolored? Even if they’re still in good physical condition, these aesthetic eyesores can make your rails appear frail or even damaged. Fortunately, there’s an easy fix for that: paint! A fresh coat of paint can make a big difference.

Give Your Front Door Some TLC

Faded and old? Your front door is the entrance to your home, so make it bright, welcoming, and beautiful! Fresh paint or even a new door might be in order if your door isn’t dressing up your home.

Add Some Seasonal Decor

If the rest is looking good, it’s time to add the finishing touches! How about a little seasonal decor to really make your visitors (or buyers) say, “Wow!”. Now that spring is around the corner, you might consider bright colors or pretty pastels. (If you’re selling, you probably want to stay away from any religious or holiday-specific decor).
